Rebecca Adler & Tomas Vega

Rebecca had moved from Minneapolis eleven years earlier for the mountains, and had structured her entire business around them. Tomas had grown up in Salida and trained at University of Colorado. When they met, neither of them had to pretend enthusiasm for long weekends above 10,000 feet.

Their first long conversation took place on a chairlift at Loveland. Their first real date involved a drive to Crested Butte, a morning ride, and a dinner at a restaurant they both liked. By the end of the weekend they were trading playlists and planning September.

They got engaged on a ridge in the Maroon Bells, in the particular cold light of October. Rebecca brought the ring; Tomas had brought one too, which they agreed was very on-brand for both of them.
