Sophia Lane & Marcus Feldman

Met February 2024

Sophia Lane
Marcus Feldman
"Neither of us had planned for Valentine’s Day — the city just decided for us, and somehow we agreed with it." — Sophia

Sophia had almost closed her account the week a single message from Marcus came in. It was not a pickup line — just a short note about a Noguchi exhibition at the Noguchi Museum she had mentioned in her bio. He asked which piece had stayed with her. Three paragraphs later they were trading studio stories and late-night bagel preferences.

Their first meeting was a Tuesday coffee at a counter seat on Elizabeth Street. It was only as she was leaving that they realized the date was February 14th. "Neither of us had planned for it," Sophia laughs, "but the whole city was leaning into the day, and somehow so did we."

A year in they keep separate apartments and strict Sunday routines: farmer’s market at Union Square, an hour at the Strand, then dinner cooked at home. They got engaged on the High Line last fall, the kind of New York moment neither of them had believed in until it happened.
